Nurture Life Meals for Picky Eaters
Proper nutrition is necessary for kids’ growth, and the healthy decision-making skills and eating habits they develop at a young age can set them up for success down the road. By teaching kids to eat a healthy, wholesome diet, you can encourage a positive relationship with food that lasts a lifetime.
But this is easier said than done. As your little ones grow, so do their personalities and opinions, which are sure to come out at mealtime.
At Nurture Life, we understand that many kids are hesitant to approach certain vegetables, whole grains or other new and unfamiliar foods, which can be difficult when you’re trying to get your child to eat more nutritiously. That’s why our team of chefs and registered dietitians has collaborated to develop kid-friendly, well-balanced meals for picky eaters of all ages. Our premade meals are created specifically for kids who are still learning to try new ingredients, flavors and textures, while also incorporating a full serving of veggies and vital nutrients like protein, fiber and iron that many picky eaters’ diets lack.
Need some direction? Here are a few of our favorite kid-friendly meals for picky eaters straight from Nurture Life’s menu:
Chicken Bites with Green Beans & Roasted Sweet Potatoes
This dish is familiar to picky eaters but packed with balanced nutrition! Our crispy baked Chicken Bites provides 25g of protein, while naturally sweet green beans and roasted sweet potatoes give this meal a kid-friendly source of fiber. It will quickly become your picky eater’s favorite!
Mac & Cheese with Butternut Squash
Mac & cheese is a timeless classic that rarely disappoints even the pickiest eater. Nurture Life’s Mac & Cheese is made with whole wheat pasta, making the meal an excellent source of fiber: one serving of Nurture Life Mac & Cheese provides a quarter of a child’s daily fiber requirements. We also puree butternut squash into our creamy cheddar cheese sauce, which provides about 60 percent of your kids’ Daily Value of vitamin C.
Chicken Meatballs with Pasta & Vegetables
A successful way to get your kid to try a new food is by pairing it with something they already like, which is why we pair mild-tasting cauliflower with broccoli! Kids will also love our flavorful housemade chicken meatballs, which provide a lean alternative to the traditional beef variety. To round out the meal, we use whole wheat rotini in our pasta, which packs in fiber and B vitamins, important nutrients for converting carbohydrates into energy. Plus our pasta sauce has carrots and butternut squash blended in for extra hidden veggies!
Egg Bite with Mini Pancakes & Sweet Potatoes
Breakfast can be served all day long with this picky eater favorite. With a fontina and Parmesan egg bite, mini whole wheat pancakes and deeply roasted maple-glazed sweet potatoes, this brunch-inspired meal offers a healthier take on an American-style breakfast. Going beyond toaster waffles or sugary cereal, it provides a full serving of organic veggies and filling protein—exactly what your kids need to fuel their day.
BBQ Pulled Pork with Carrots & Cornbread
Who says backyard BBQ vibes have to end with summer? With this deliciously balanced meal, you can serve up your kid’s favorite BBQ flavors all year long while providing 25g of protein and a full serving of veggies. Featuring a cornbread loaf and glazed organic carrots, this meal has a natural sweetness that makes it a hit with picky eaters—without the need for tons of added sugar or empty-calorie condiments on the side.
Turkey Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans
Nurture Life’s take on classic meatloaf keeps all the kid-friendly flavor and adds a lighter mix of ground turkey, ricotta cheese and hidden veggies. Served with a side of mashed cauliflower potatoes and organic green beans, our meatloaf delivers comfort without compromising on nutrition.
