4 New Kids Meals to Start the School Year Right

AUGUST 16, 2021

It’s hard to believe, but the new school year is upon us! Whether your little one is heading back to elementary school or your toddler is starting a new preschool or daycare routine, we’re excited to be releasing four new healthy kids meals to help you start the school year right—no matter what that looks like for your family.

Delicious, packed with organic veggies and ready in just 1 minute, Nurture Life’s new kids meals will satisfy your kid’s appetite for flavor while serving up the vitamins, minerals and nutrients needed for fun-filled days of learning and play.

Chicken & Tortellini with Broccoli

Is there such a thing as too much tortellini? Not in our books—and our team of happy taste testers agrees! Whether packed in a kid’s lunchbox or served for a quick yet wholesome dinner after a busy day at school, our four-cheese tortellini is an anytime kid pleaser.

This nutritious meal keeps it super kid-friendly (even for picky eaters!) by capturing the well-loved taste of creamy alfredo and freshly grilled chicken. A serving of organic broccoli on the side provides a pop of vibrant color along with essential vitamins, minerals and fiber.

Veggieful Potstickers with Rainbow Rice

Potstickers are always full of flavor, but ours are full of veggies, too! Each dumpling is packed with a satisfying filling made from organic tofu and five—count ‘em, five!—organic veggies. Your kid will love the familiar flavor of Chinese takeout in a meal that’s both well balanced and plant based.

The veggie goodness doesn’t stop there, either! For a more colorful and nutritious twist on everyone’s favorite fried rice, we serve our brown rice with a rainbow of carrots, peas and corn tossed in a delightfully savory sesame-soy sauce.

French Toast Sticks with Cheesy Omelet

One-minute school-day breakfast? Check. Simple lunch to heat, pack and head out the door? Check. Fun and easy breakfast for dinner? Check!

No matter the time of day, this brunch-inspired duo offers a classic pairing of sweet and savory that will satisfy your kid’s hunger with all the right nutrients. Serving up dietary fiber from whole grain toast and 16g of protein from the delicious colby cheese omelet, this meal offers the nutritional balance your kids need to feel satisfied, stay energized and be ready to learn.

Beef Taco Pockets with Fiesta Corn

If you ask us, it’s always a good time for tacos—especially when there’s hidden veggies involved! Our taco bites are stuffed with ground beef, carrots, red pepper, onion and potatoes, all seasoned to taco perfection with classic flavors and spices like oregano, adobo, cumin and garlic. A side of lime-garlic fiesta corn brings a nice balance of color, zestiness and veggies to the plate.

There’s nothing like a well-balanced meal to help your kid get back into the school routine. Imaide Steverango

As a Research and Development Manager at Nurture Life, Imaide is in charge of developing nutritionally dense, culturally diverse meals for babies, toddlers and kids. Her goal is to create delicious meals that balance protein, veggies and complex carbs in dishes that celebrate flavors and ingredients that might not otherwise be introduced into the home. She loves the challenge of making veggies more kid-friendly, especially when she finds a way to showcase them at the forefront of a meal. With a Bachelor’s degree in culinary nutrition and a concentration in clinical dietetics, Imaide brings a balance of culinary expertise and nutrition knowledge. In her previous position as Executive Chef and Food Service Director at a childcare center, she was in charge of feeding children from 6 months to 6 years old. This allowed her to gain a strong understanding of what flavors, textures and ingredients kids love. Imaide’s passion for food is rooted in its power to bring people together—food lets children learn about diversity and how what we eat can help us accept each other’s differences.
