Doing Our Part To Keep Your Family Healthy Amidst COVID-19

APRIL 9, 2020

We founded Nurture Life with the mission to deliver a healthier world through better nutrition for our kids, and nothing is more important to us than the safety and well being of the children, families and team members we serve. Each week, you welcome us into your home and allow us to help you nourish your children. We are grateful for the opportunity and we take that responsibility very seriously and to heart in every action we take as a company.

As an essential business, we will continue to operate and deliver to families uninterrupted across the contiguous United States. Cooking and delivering meals has always been one of our specialties, but meal delivery has a completely different meaning now as it’s become a necessity for families across the U.S looking to eat healthy while sheltering-in-place and avoiding trips to the grocery store.

I wanted to take a moment to share with you the precautions and measures we take to ensure the safe production and delivery of our meals to your family.

According to the CDC, there is no evidence of the transmission of COVID-19 through food.

As always, we have incredibly high standards in the sourcing of our ingredients and only source from trusted farmers and purveyors focusing on organic produce, antibiotic and hormone-free meats and poultry, ASC-certified fish and whole grains.

Each Nurture Life meal is hand made with care in our production facility located just outside of Chicago in Bedford Park, IL.

  • We are an FDA and USDA inspected facility and adhere to HACCP-compliant culinary processes, which are the most stringent food safety and preparation processes in food manufacturing.
  • All team members adhere to strict hygiene and good manufacturing practices, including proper hand washing techniques and the wearing of personal protective equipment at all times (hairnets, frocks, gloves and face masks).
  • We do not permit team members who exhibit any signs of illness to work in our facility and provide all team members with paid time off so that they can be paid if and when they take sick days.
  • We follow rigorous sanitation practices throughout our production facility including sanitizing our facility throughout the day, during changeovers and conducting deep cleanings nightly.

Our meals are delivered to you through UPS or United Delivery Service providing contact-free deliveries. To minimize contact, our delivery team is leaving your boxes in the safest place possible (doorstep, front porch, front desk and lobbies of your building, etc.).

We are closely monitoring the evolving guidance from the CDC, WHO, FDA and local health officials to ensure we are instituting the safest practices possible for your family and our team members.

Today, all of our communities are facing unprecedented challenges and there is an increased need for food, especially among families who are food insecure. We are donating Nurture Life meals weekly to Lakeview Pantry, Chicago’s largest food dispensary, to help this increased need.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us at support@nurturelife.com and/or 877.988.8851. We are thinking of you and your family and wish you the very best during this incredibly challenging time.
